Info:
The 4 man collective known as Vicious Circle began in a flat in South London almost 3 years ago. Born out of a mutual love of all things Drum n Bass and with a wide range of influences ranging from Detroit techno to Motown, this exciting new crew have entered the scene with a bang and intend to continue rocking dance floors with their no holds barred style of deep dark future funk.
Inspired by the futuristic techy styles of the late 90’s coming from the likes of Bad Company, Konflict and the Virus/Prototype camp’s, Vicious Circle set about crafting there own distinct sound and networking with artists worldwide. Arriving at the Miami Winter Music Conference in March 04 armed with a handful of cd’s, the crew were pleasantly surprised to find their early work getting heavy Dj support from some of the scenes biggest names like Pendulum, Technical Itch and Keaton. Upon returning to the UK it was clear that now was the time to take the next step…..
The big break came when Universal Project, impressed with what they were hearing, offered the team their choice of remix from the UP back catalogue. Underground anthem ‘Jackhammer’ originally released on Loxys ‘Cylon’ imprint was their choice and the results were devastating! So much so in fact that legendary label Renegade Hardware were soon calling and before long Vicious Circle’s remix was signed to Hardware as part of UP’s ‘Black Techno EP’. Heavy support followed across the scene from the likes of Friction, Pendulum, Loxy, Baron, Raiden, Dieselboy and many more Dj’s worldwide and by the time the EP was released in October 2004 other labels were looking towards VC’s remix talents as well as showing interest in the groups original material.
Promoters were also starting to take note. Residencies at nights such as Repercussion and Ambush and bookings at high profile events like Renegade Hardware and Anger Managements Therapy Sessions meant sharing flyer space with some of the biggest names in Drum n Bass. A Vicious Circle Dj set is a blend of the most cutting edge dubs from all over the world combined with years of Dj experience and is not to be missed.
So into 2005 and so far its been a big one the Circle, kicking off with an appearance in ATM magazine and the release’s of ‘Apparition’ (Feat EBK) on Kryptic Minds Defcom label, the minimal tech funk of ‘Doomtrain’ on Renegade Hardware’s ‘Guerrilla Warfare LP’ and the crews twisted remix of breaks don ILS single ‘Cherish’ on Defected and to be followed by ‘Shadrock’ feat. Corrupt Souls and ‘The Grudge’ with Chase & Status both on Renegade Hardware and of course the massive club smasher ‘Hellrazor’ with Universal Project on UP Recs.
With many more killer tracks in the pipeline and bookings all over the world the next few months promise to be an exciting time for the guys and should cement there place as one of the most exciting talents in the scene today.

The fresh'n'upcoming duo Nocturnal met each other 2001 at their work place in Sydney, Australia. After nearly 4 years in the studio combining their common influences like stuff from Ed&Op, BC, Stakka & Skynet and Konflict with their very own vision of sound, they now present their Nocturnal brand of twisted dark grooves. Recently with their first signing of 'Crater', a collabo with Prolix on Renegade Hardware's 10th anniversary release, their name began to be recognized in the scene. Now involved in collaborations with Corrupt Souls, Vicious Circle, and EBK. On the german .shadybrain rec. 'Pharynx' was released, another deep & funky underground jewel, so watch out, this is just the warming up! Their most recent tune ‘Cross The Line’ has recently been picked up by Dylan & Robyn @ Freak so watch out for this one, it is truly unforgiving.
